How to enable GDPR

Candidates can explicitly call the unsubscribe method in the chat area displayed in the Candidate Portal. When the candidate informs EVA that he wants to unsubscribe from all the notifications coming from EVA, then GDPR will be automatically enabled.

Candidate Request To Restrict Communication

Eva.ai makes it easy for candidates to manage their communication preferences through the chatbot. 

For example, the candidate might say "I want to unsubscribe." In the Eva ChatBot

Then the following options are displayed:

  • I do not want to receive job notifications

  • I do not want to receive emails

  • Unsubscribe from all communication

  • Skip

Candidate can select their preference:

  • Job notifications: Stop receiving job-related messages.

  • Emails: Stop receiving all emails.

  • All communication: Unsubscribe from everything.

  • Skip: Exit without changing anything.

Confirmation Message:

  • After the candidate selects an option, they will see a message confirming their choice

    • For job notifications: "Your communication preferences have been updated. You will no longer receive job notifications."

    • For emails: "Your communication preferences have been updated. You will no longer receive emails."

    • For all communication: "Your communication preferences have been updated. You are now unsubscribed from all communications."

Important Points

  • Custom Message: The confirmation message will be specific to the option the candidate chose.

  • Change Anytime: Candidate can update your communication preferences whenever you want via ChatBot

Few more examples of phrases used by the candidate, which are handled as GDPR requests:

  • Please unsubscribe me from all communications

  • Stop sending me marketing information

  • I don’t want to receive any more emails from you

  • I want to be removed from your mail list

Agent Side Modifications to add “Unsubscribe” option in the emails/manually updating GDPR

Rich text emails and templates 

To add a clickable unsubscribe link to any of your emails just select Unsubscribe URL from your params library 

Or type {{un and select Unsubscribe URL from drop-down

For HTML email templates 

Just add {{ unsubscribeUrl }} to your email template and style it as a clickable link

Example: <a style="color: #1088E2;" href="{{ unsubscribeUrl }}">Unsubscribe</a>

When email recipients click on the link they will be presented with the following options: 

  • Unsubscribe from automated communications, this will include new chat messages, reengagement campaigns, job status change notifications.

  • Unsubscribe from all email communications, this option will completely block sending any email from Eva platform (you are still able to send emails from your email client though)

  • Unsubscribe from all communications, this option completely blocks all communications channels from Eva. 

Manually updating GDPR options 

You can also manually update candidates and contact GDPR status from their profile, under field GDPR options.
